Alejandra Garcia Gonzalez
Alejandra Gonzalez, MS, is a PhD candidate at Palo Alto University in California and currently serves as a psychology intern at Full Circle Health. She earned her bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Genetics & Genomics from the University of California, Davis, and her master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Palo Alto University. Alejandra has a strong clinical focus on health psychology and working with Latinx individuals and families, with the goal of improving access to mental health care. Her clinical experiences include working with children and adolescents in school-based settings, supporting unhoused individuals and families, providing therapy in Latinx mental health clinics, and assisting children and their families in a hospital setting. She primarily employs a Cognitive Behavioral framework in her practice but also integrates techniques from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, customizing her approach to meet the specific goals and needs of the individual. Outside of work, Alejandra enjoys exploring new coffee shops, attending live music events, painting, and finding a great hiking trail.
Amy Sutherland
Amy Sutherland is a doctoral candidate in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University New England and an intern at the ISU Counseling and Mental Health Center and ISU Family Medicine. She completed her bachelor’s degree at Wellesley College, her M.Ed. at Boston College, and her MS at Antioch University New England. She has worked in a science fiction and fantasy bookstore, taught 7th grade, and homeschooled her own child. Amy’s clinical experience includes: school-based assessment at the elementary and high school levels; individual therapy with older adults in a Primary All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) setting; and individual and group therapy with children, family therapy, and assessment of children in a community mental health setting. She is passionate about providing individualized, respectful care to clients across the lifespan, and is particularly interested in working as part of an interdisciplinary team to deliver care in a way that feels safe, accessible, and welcoming to people who might have felt excluded from mental healthcare services in the past. She loves being in Pocatello for her internship year, especially the energetic and enthusiastic atmosphere of ISU and the numerous trails to explore just minutes from her door.
Casey Theriault
Casey Theriault, M.A. is a psychology intern at Pearl Health Clinic in Idaho Falls, ID. She is attending the APA accredited Kean University Psy.D. in Combined School and Clinical Psychology program which combines education and training across the two areas of practice, emphasizing diverse clinical and research experiences. Casey received a Master of Arts in Educational Psychology following completion of the second year of her doctoral program. At Pearl Health Clinic, Casey performs diagnostic assessments, psychological and neuropsychological testing, and psychotherapy for most ages and presenting concerns.
Casey has experience working in various clinical environments, including a hospital, school, and private neuropsychological clinic. Her primary clinical focus is on providing comprehensive psychological and neuropsychological evaluations to provide diagnostic clarification and appropriate recommendations for clients and their families. She has experience working with a wide range of presenting concerns, including various neurodevelopmental, mood, personality, and neurocognitive disorders.
Casey utilizes a cognitive behavioral approach to therapy, which focuses on how one’s thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and physiology interact to influence well-being and functioning. Casey will also use interventions from other therapeutic orientations to enhance the therapy process. Casey strives to foster a safe and trusting relationships with her clients so that they feel comfortable and confident working with her.
Casey was born and raised in northern New Jersey, moving to Idaho Falls to complete her internship year. She completed her undergraduate work in Philadelphia at University of the Sciences (now St. Joseph’s University). In her free time, Casey enjoys spending time with her partner and cat, reading, listening to Taylor Swift, and watching her favorite sports teams’ games.
John Pipolo
John is a psychology intern who is pursuing his PsyD degree in clinical psychology from Alliant International University in Los Angeles. He received his Masters of Science degree in Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling from CSU Fresno. He also received his Masters of Arts degree in Psychology from Alliant International University.
As a master’s level graduate trainee, John has experience providing educational and vocational services for college students with disabilities. At the doctoral level, John provided neuropsychological assessments for older adult populations as well as therapy in college counseling, inpatient hospital, and private practice settings.
When working with his clients, John largely operates within a humanistic lens. Viewing his clients as a whole and unique person in relation to their presenting challenges is at the epicenter of his care. He emphasizes the importance of creating a safe and warm environment to facilitate a strong therapeutic alliance and client exploration of their authentic selves to foster growth and change.
His professional interests also include culturally informed care, disability affirmative therapy, vocational counseling, ADHD/ASD assessment, identity development, behavioral health, and adjustment to phase of life challenges. Outside the office, John is an avid trail runner, fisherman, MMA fan, and is likely exploring the best food vendors that Boise has to offer!
William Rice
Will Rice, MA, is a doctoral student from Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, North Carolina, and the current psychology intern at State Hospital South. He earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Arizona State University and his Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Western Carolina University. Will’s clinical experiences include conducting neuropsychological and comprehensive psychological assessments for neurodevelopmental disorders, neurocognitive disorders, and psychiatric disorders as well as providing individual therapy. He has worked with individuals ranging in age from 4 to 85 years old in assessment, but primarily works with adults and older adults. Will is firm in his belief that a thorough and accurate assessment is crucial to treatment if not therapeutic unto itself, dedicated to providing culturally informed practice, and is passionate about treating individuals using evidence-based best practices. Will primarily works using a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy framework but incorporates ideas and techniques from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy as well as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy frameworks. In his free time, Will enjoys appreciating and making music, tinkering with electronics, hiking, and spending time with his partner and his friends.
